Michael Ray Charles using stereotype in his work in order to start dialogue on a topic that should be reconsidered historically. For a potential lesson idea, students could choose a stereotype that they feel that they fall under and visually represent that using mixed media to construct a sculpture. This sculpture would then be positioned on a platform that is can be burned but will not go up into flames. They then would have the chance to "break" this stereotype by burning the edges of the platform of the sculpture creating a burnt effect on the edges.
